Owl and Embers - Original

Two female figures stand close in the trees, wrapped in gowns that pool like something out of an old rite, one in burnished gold and blue, the other in red and pink, both catching light the way silk does near flame. The eucalypts grow high above them, their canopies stamped with impressions of owls, as if pressed there by some ancient mold, dressing the forest in half hidden onlookers. Below, a fire burns low and orange, sparks float up with the heat, and at the edge of the frame a bird, all wings, pure white and outstretched, lifts the trailing hem of the women's gowns away safely. There's something old happening here, more ritual, two beings mid ceremony in a grove that feels touched by myth, lit by dusk pink sky and firelight both at once. Made of fingerpainting, and brushes, this multi-technique pieces brings the angelic realm lightly into focus.
