The Cacti Collection explores the richness of the desert, transforming perceptions of barrenness into a celebration of living color. Initially wary of the desert’s stark landscapes, Iris discovered, after moving to Northern New Mexico in 2019, the vibrant ecosystem teeming with flora and fauna.  Her studio perches on the edge of a 300-foot canyon, where cacti punctuate the terrain, occasionally brushing the very soles of her feet, grounding her work in the desert’s intimate, tactile presence.
