Cypriot - Original

Inspired by the landscape of Tuscany, where Iris lived and painted for a year in college, cypress trees rise tall from rolling hills beneath a pink-tinted sky. The clouds and atmosphere are woven together like a basket beneath the fingertips of a weaver, merging open sky, cloud, and weather into one luminous surface. It is a creative and unexpected take on what it means to paint the sky. Part of Iris’s Van Gogh-inspired series, the hills, paths, roads, grasses, and trails all fall under one stylistic motif: parallel lines painted in deep grooves of thick impasto oil, like a rainbow choosing its direction.
