A thickly impastoed plein air painting, worked in finger swipes and palette-knife crescendos, where paint rises like terrain itself. From a field of waist-high grasses—each blade dragged upward in buttery strokes—the viewer looks toward the vaporous outline of an ancient Tuscan city. Its towers and domes hover in the early haze, warm summer sun has just broken the horizon, and its first light spills across the canvas in molten gold, sun-kissing tones, mist, and meadow alike, turning distance into atmosphere and air into architecture.
