Sea Through the Madronas - Original

A red-barked madrona tree rises in vertical waves, as if warmed into motion by the sun itself, its green leaves stretched into long, stylized strokes. Through the trees, a slip of turquoise sea glimmers in the distance. Above it, a pink sky—perhaps tinged with the ghost of a long-spent forest fire—settles into a soft haze, casting a pale blush across the upper air. A lavender foothill hovers beyond the shoreline. In the foreground, a path of thick, chunky oil paint beckons the wanderer forward. Red and blue wildflowers lean toward its edges, and the coastal grasses seem to bend with a wind you can almost feel brushing through the scene. Made completely by finger painting, this sweet little painting honors the West Coast which the artist grew up in.

The sides of the canvas are painted as a wrap-around continuation of the painting. Arrives ready to hang or frame.
